UPDATE: The National Elections Committee and the NPC extended the deadline for At-Large Delegate nominations to May 10th. Nominations are now closed.
In past years, the DSA At-Large Delegation (delegates not from chapters) to the National Convention has not been contested. But since DSA continues to grow tremendously, the National Political Committee and DSA staff are anticipating a competitive election for the 100 At-Large Delegate spots this year. Candidates who would like to run in the At-Large Delegate Election must fill out the At-Large Delegates Nominations Form during the nominations period. The updated deadline is May 10th. Please check your email for a link to the nominations form. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you did not receive a link.
Following the nominations period, the National Elections Committee will release a packet with information from the form on each candidate running in the election to all At-Large members of DSA via email on May 12th when the elections period opens.
On May 12, the National Elections Committee will release a packet with information on each at-large delegate candidate to all At-Large members of DSA via email. Any At-Large DSA member in good standing will be eligible to vote in the election between May 12 and June 2 online through OpaVote. The National Office will send a paper ballot to any At-Large Member eligible to vote in the election who does not have an email address on record with DSA.
If less than 100 candidates nominate themselves for the election, every candidate will be adopted as an At-Large Delegate by acclamation.
Please see below for more information about the At-Large Delegate Election:
