Join the Housing Justice Commission for our last general call of the year to talk about lessons learned and our priorities for 2021.
2020 has been a difficult year for tenants, to say the least. The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the predictable economic downturn of capitalism and the suffering of the working class, especially renters with no safety net even before the crisis. Establishment politicians have done virtually nothing to stop the tidal wave of evictions, instead extending relief to landlords.
Yet we've also seen powerful waves of mass protest and rebellion, including radical actions to defend tenants from eviction, vacant property reclamations, court blockades, and more. Few of us could have predicted the course of the year, and so much is still unknown about the year ahead.
