Chapter Incorporation Update

We are close to finalizing the Incorporation Kit and plan to send it out by the end of the year. In the meantime, check out this checklist to familiarize yourself with the process. We want your input on sample chapter bylaws! Please read this cover letter and give feedback on draft bylaws by 9 am PT on December 26. Our 2017 Constitution states that newly approved chapters must adopt a “Standard New Local Constitution,” and we need to submit model chapter bylaws as part of our group exemption request to the IRS. After incorporating chapter leaders’ input, the NPC’s Steering Committee, the OC/ Chapter Committee, and DSA’s attorney will make final revisions.

Women are the major users of health care, both for themselves and for their children and often their parents. Women are also the majority of health care providers, as nurses, home health care workers and often as unpaid providers for elderly relatives. What are the specific concerns for women related to health and how can we organize to address them? What does this mean for our Medicare for All campaign? Join panelists Natalie Shure, Megan Svoboda and Amy Zachmeyer, and National Director Maria Svart to discuss socialist feminist approaches to Medicare for All.
