Barbara Ehrenreich is the author of Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting By in America, Bait and Switch: The (Futile) Pursuit of the American Dream, and Global Woman: Nannies, Maids, and Sex Workers in the New Economy, and numerous other books. She is a frequent contributor to Harper's and the Nation and has also been a columnist at the New York Times and Time Magazine. She is most recently the founder of the just-launched Economic Hardship Reporting Project, which supports innovative journalism on poverty and economic hardship.
