The Credit Card Outrage
Not long ago I reported
that Sen. Bernie Sanders and five Senate co-sponsors introduced legislation
that would cap credit card interest at 15 percent nationwide. DSA has
endorsed the bill (S.582), which amends the
Truth in Lending Act. Now I can report that a related bill (H.R.1640) has been
introduced in the House of Representatives by Rep. Maurice Hinchey (D-NY) with
12 cosponsors. These bills go far beyond the proposals of the President and the Democratic leadership to reform credit card practices. Bernie needs your help to get them enacted. You can help by urging your
representative and
senators to support these
