DSA in the
Media
This
Thursday, March 12, DSA vice-chair and national political
committee member Joseph Schwartz will be a guest on
The Morning Show on KPFA 94.1 from 8:30-9 AM Pacific time. Identified
as a leader of DSA, he'll be discussing current economic and political events,
the renewed attention to "socialism", and whether Obama is taking the USA down
the socialist path. Those not in KPFA's broadcast area can listen live, or
eventually archived, by going to the radio station's website. DSA members Barbara Ehrenreich and Bill
Fletcher co-authored an article titled Reimagining Socialism in
the latest issue (March 23, 2009) of The Nation. To view or
download the article click HERE. Barbara Ehrenreich, an honorary chair of
DSA, followed the article up with an appearance on WNYC's The Brian Lehrer
Show. You can listen to the interview by clicking HERE.
Also in The Nation blog on March 5,
Eric Alterman responds to a post by one-time DSA member George Packer in the New
Yorker blog that compared the tone at the recent Conservative
Political Action Committee Convention to the tone at DSA events he
attended. Packer eventually "clarified" his remarks. You can follow the
dialogue by clicking HERE.
